Fiona bought Pinto as a 4 year old, whilst sourcing horses in Ireland for a client. He was just broken and very green. He is a big horse with huge movement which has taken Fiona a while to get used to. He took to eventing like a duck to water and loves his job, sometimes a bit too much! He has a fantastic jump and in Pinto's eyes, the bigger and scarier the fence the better! He was placed in the top 10 at the 6 Year Old National Championships and produced a good dressage and double clear in the CCI** 7 Year Old Championships. He had many good results in 2012, gaining him a place on the 2013 Equine Pathway Programme. Pinto took Fiona around her first 3* at Burnham Market and they did not look back, winning the OI at Tweseldown, coming 6th at the 8&9yr old Advanced at Aston Le Walls, jumping double clear around Barbury 3* and finishing in the top half at Blenheim Palace CCI***. Pinto had a setback at the beginning of 2015 which meant he wasn't fit to compete until the end of the season. He came out in great form jumping a double clear around Aston OI and Wellington Advanced being placed in both. He was entered for Blenhiem CCI*** but unfortunatley was wait listed. In November 2015, Pinto was accepted to go to the Indoor Eventing Masters at Stuttgart. He was phenominal and finished 8th which was the best Brit. We kept him in work over the winter but unfortunately he sustained an injury which meant he had the whole of 2016 season off. He sadly never came sound enough to stay in full work, so we decided to retire him. Sophie Ramsay, one of Fiona's previous head girls who always had a soft spot for him, has taken him on as her overgrown pet and he will live the rest of his days wanting for nothing.
